As we know Hem Barua was a famous and popular poet in Assam as he has written many famous and popular poems and books. He was also the president of Assam Sahitya Sabha in the year 1972 and also awarded many prestigious awards for his written poems and books.

In the year 1948 the famous Personality of Assam Hem Barua left the Congress and joined as a new member of Socialist party.
